Chromag Sequence Rings now in stock!

Posted on May 30, 2014 by NRG

The new Sequence chainring from Chromag is now available.  The Sequence uses

the official X-SYNC technology liscenced from SRAM for unmatched chain retention.

The unique high-precision tooth profile creates an incredibly reliable single ring

setup that reduces the chance of dropping a chain, removes the need for chain

devices and front derailleurs.  Overall – considerable less fuss and significant weight

savings are acheived.

Each tooth has a longer, squarer tooth profile to engage the chain earlier and drive

for longer, thereby increasing chain retention.  Every second tooth is wider and features

a crosshead profile that is chamfered at the tip for superior engagement.

Available now for 104 BCD cranks in 30/32/34 and 36 Teeth

Surly introduces the new ICE CREAM TRUCK

Posted on February 28, 2014 by NRG
This is what Surly has to say about their newly designed Fat Bike platforms, which will  be ready for shipping this summer:
Ice Cream Truck is suspension corrected, will have thru-axle front and rear, MDS Dropout, Press fit BB, and Sram Hydro brakes – Additionally, the frame set uses the same swedged tubes as the Instigator for increased stiffness.  The Pressfit BB offers a stiffer junction and allows for minimal chain stay manipulation and better clearance for wider tires.  We use SRAM Hydro brakes because the DOT Fluid operates better at lower temps than mineral oil. The new rear end is symmetrically laced to a 197 thru axle hub for additional stiffness.
Ice Cream Truck Ops is an Optional Spec (not really an up spec) and is focused on building the bike in another vein of interest. It has the same frame set, but the spec is a little different. Narrower rims and tires, BB7 Brakes, same hubs front and rear, and all the same advantages and benefits of the new frame..

Hope Technology the Tech V4 Brake Tested review on Pink Bike

Posted on July 19, 2013 by NRG

“As a top end gravity brake the V4 is a compelling choice; it’s tough, fully re-buildable from the ground up, and while not as light as some of its competition, has shed significant weight over its predecessor.” Alasdair MacLennan
